ESRAP: Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Practices Collection

Case Collection

The Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Practices, or ESRAP, is a volunteer organization of faculty and industry practitioners supporting the mission of environmental, social, and cultural well-being in the apparel and textile industries. ESRAP is dedicated to bolstering change makers who recognize the need for a circular economy of clothing and textile practices. By working together with educators and the industry, we share ideas, concepts and practices as we engage with students at the course level through internships and job training. Please, if you share our vision, consider becoming a member.

The cases listed in the ESRAP collection are reflective of the research and teaching in which our members and their students/associates have been engaged. The subject matters are based on real practices that the writer researched or participated in. These studies allow students the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. As a membership organization, these cases are written to empower the readers to become change agents and potential members of ESRAP as they shape the socially conscious practices in the workplace.

Description of Organization

The goal of Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Practices (ESRAP) is to change curriculum on a global scale to better reflect the current state of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability in the fashion industry, and to empower students to become change agents. Our hope is that by collaborating with educators across the globe we can engage students at the course level, through internships and on the job. We invite fellow educators and industry practitioners to share their ideas and concepts and to engage with us to help shape the fashion industry’s CSR and sustainability practices.
